Last summer I met up with my closest friend in London. We had a fab time mooching round fabric shops, drinking coffee and buying food in Fortnum & Mason. Inevitably, we ended up in Liberty and I just couldn't resist buying this peacock fabric.
My friend had a favourite cross-body bag which was looking a bit worse-for-wear, so I promised to make her another one with some of my new fabric. So, she sent me the measurements and some photographs so that I could make a pattern. Autumn came...and went! Christmas came....and went. Her birthday came in January...and went.
But, finally, I've managed to finish it.
As well as the lovely peacock fabric there's also some lovely touches like a peacock charm and ribbon pulls....
...as well as a removable key fob ribbon which can be used to make sure she can find her house keys easily and a zip top lining.
I hope she thinks it was worth the wait.
Apologies to all the lovely ladies (and gents) who take part in Handmade Monday (and voted for the lining fabric - the pale blue seemed to be the most popular). I'm usually a bit of a stickler for making sure I post comments on everyone who links up, but I just didn't find time last week. Really, really sorry! I'll make sure I rectify this week.
yay! Glad you chose that lining. It's perfect! I love that charm. Great job on this bag!! Janelle
