The week seems to have flown by since the last Handmade Monday and i don't seem to have achieved very much - i blame the glorious weather. Seems a shame to spend the evenings sewing indoors when i could be outside catching the last few bits of summer warmth!
But i have managed to finish a few things and list some of my make-up bags on my folksy shop.
I had a bit of a panic before my last craft fair that i needed to have some cheaper items available in case folk didn't carry much cash, and there wasn't a cashpoint in the village. So i went into mass production (well, i made seven!) to get these finished. Although they all follow a similar pattern, each one is unique - turning them around so quickly was easy really because they were so enjoyable to make. And it was quite satisfying to see a small 'stash' of items piled up at the end of the day.....
Unusual fabric and like the contrasting centre strips and charms
ReplyDeleteWow - these are super stylish. I'm a bit afraid of working with zips - must have had a bad experience when I was young! These are lovely and it's a good idea to have a range of priced items. Well done and enjoy the sunshine
ReplyDeletewow these are lovely! off to check out your folksy site! x
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! Love the linings - they add that little touch of luxury. Love the little charm too! Good luck with them at the fair x
ReplyDeleteI love these little make up bags Helen - especially the burgundy coloured one. I think I'm getting Christmas obsessed now as am thinking they would be a good idea for gifts and you could put something appropriate to the person inside. Mich:)
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely Helen - such a nice idea to add the charm to each one. Lovely colours

ReplyDeleteYour bags are lovely. Perfect for a fair stall.
ReplyDeleteHelen, these are really nice bags, I love the different combination of colours and fabrics.

I like those fabrics! And zippers. I don't know how to put in zippers yet, that seems so difficult. Very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteoh my...they are beautiful! I love washbags, I probably have 5 yet rarely go away! And these give me serious washbag envy...
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely, and impulse buys a total must! I love the touch of adding the charms. An excellent gift for anyone! Well other than the old man perhaps ;)
ReplyDeleteYour bags are lovely (especially the purple)and I love the star charms. But I have to say - I really love your tags!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your really lovely comments. I'm a bit new to zips too so spent a while looking on the Internet. These were some of the easiest zips to do -much easier than zipper pockets for bags.
ReplyDeleteI really like these... using the stripe and the embellishment just lifts them so far above the others - great job :)
ReplyDeleteYou need to do a zipper tutorial! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your make up bags, you certainly were on the production line with them weren't you? I love thw way the fabrics work together. Tried to comment several times yesterday to no avail, fingers crossed for this time
