This may be my last handmade Monday post for a little while. I'm hoping that by this time next week we'll be all packed up in boxes ready to move to our new house the following Friday. At least that's the plan!
After years of wanting to move out of the town, we're (hopefully!) finally on our way. It'll be so nice to have views over open countryside and plenty of garden for the dogs (the garden in our 3-bed semi in town looks like the Somme half way through the winter).
One of the most exciting things is that our sellers aren't leaving any curtains. So, aside from a few early starts at the crack of dawn because we can't shut the light out, it does mean I'll be able to go on a fabric buying spree.
I'm already planning the redecoration....am particularly excited to decorate and furnish my conservatory (I've never had one of those before). I'm planning a retro feel, with 1950's B&W fashion prints and this fab wallpaper..
I've assembled my quilt squares...
But no idea what to do next. Advice greatly appreciated.
And finished one last order for a customer. Now, time for a glass of wine in the sunshine I think....
OOh good luck with the move, I'm hoping that I can be on the move again soon too (if only someone would buy my house!)
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the 'before' pics in the new home - I always forget and it's so frustrating when you've beautifully decorated and you want to show off the improvements!
best of luck with the house move. A stressful, but very exciting, time!! Can't wait for an update!! x
ReplyDeleteBefore pics are a good idea so don't forget where you packed the camera. The quilt squares look lovely, I love the blast of colour.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the move :)

How exciting a lovely new house to kit out. Bet you will have a great time doing that. See you when you're settled in and hopefully with some photos of your makes.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your move! And your quilt looks great x
ReplyDeleteHope your move all goes to plan.
ReplyDeleteI can't be much help with the quilt sorry, but it's looking lovely.
Your bag looks fab too. x
I wish you a lot of luck with the move.I can see how excited you are to be able to go on an official fabric expedition. Sounds as if you will be very busy. Looking forward to the pictures already :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your move. Hope the new place will bring you a lot of enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks stunning!
Good luck with the move. I love the quilt. Are you planning to keep it for yourself. You could make a feature of it in your new house. I have only made one quilt, but now wish I had put more thought into the quality and colour of the backing fabric.
ReplyDeleteChoosing new furnishing and decorations is always great fun and I am looking forward to seeing what you do. I hope your move goes really well and you settle in very quickly. Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeletehow exciting to be off to pastures new! I highly recommend country life, i'm sure you'll love it, the dogs definitely will!
ReplyDeletewhat fun to be decorating your new place, it will make it feel like home so much more quickly :) x
I hope the move goes well. Have fun making it your own.
ReplyDeleteI love your new look for the conservatory - hope the move goes well. Thank you for sharing all your bag makes.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and all the best for the move. You may need lots more of that wine to get you through the move :-)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've got exciting times ahead, it must be great to be able to start from scratch and choose what you want it to look like. really love your quilt too.
ReplyDeleteHope everything goes well with your move. Don't forget to take before, during and after photos of each room as it's a great to look back on all your hard work (or in our case - were we mad to take on such a project !!!!).
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is looking lovely. The next thing you'll need to do is make what's known as a 'quilt sandwich'. That's where you stitch the 'quilt' to the wadding and foundation fabric or backing fabric.
