Restocking and first sale of the year!

I was expecting it to be quiet after Christmas so wasn't sure what I was going to write for this weeks Handmade Harbour post. Especially since my shop is pretty low on stock at the moment. So it was a nice surprise to hear from my local craft store saying they've sold one of my bags.

I've also had some lovely comments back from people who received one of my bags as a Christmas present. I think this is one of my favourite colour combinations so far.

All this has spurred me on to get a move on with restocking my shop. I have a list of bags I want to make in a variety of fabrics, and then I think it's time to focus on my website. Folksy sales and custom orders through my Facebook page did really well at the end of 2012. But my website didn't do quite so well. So, I think it's time it got a little bit more TLC.
But first I need more stock.....
And to do that I need more fabric....yeah......
(OK, well I don't really need any more fabric, but any excuse!)

I'll let you know how I get on.

  2. Its great to hear that your business is doing so well, your bags certainly are gorgeous and well deserving of their popularity!

I find that its harder to get visitors to my website than elsewhere too, its a bit stick out there on its own in cyberspace i always feel...! I have a links page on there to connect to other handmade sites - i could add a link to your site if you like? x

  5. OHH, new fabric, there's always something very lovely about new fabric!! I find January is not the quiet month everyone says it is (but that's online). I think some sales come in on the back of Christmas gifts received, some as late gifts, who knows? My quietest months are June and September. Websites take a long time to build up - good luck with it! x

  6. I'm starting to feel the same about fabric, but if this craft demands it, who are we to argue? :-)

Looking forward to seeing what new things you create.
