Selling handmade handbags at Eccleshall Street Market


Just about made it in time for another Handmade Monday - phew! It's been a bit of a mad week.

First of all there's the work on my new logo .... which is hopefully going to be for my new website - woo hoo! But it's still early days, and my logo is very much a work in progress. I do sometimes think that HandbagsbyHelen is a bit of long name - but I've used it consistently across facebook, forums etc. So I'm reluctant to change it. It does however seem to be a little restrictive at times!

Have still got to unpack from last weeks Eccleshall Street Market. Great event and a fab day out and it was lovely to see some familiar faces. Although I wasn't sure I wanted to be pitched right next to the Freddie Mercury - erm - look-a-like act.....

There's a great crafting community around the local area. So if you happen to be passing or live nearby then pop in and take a look at Angela Smith's jewellery. Or feed your fabric obsession by a trip to Polyanna Patchwork.

I'm hoping I'll be able to share my new logo with you next week and make some progress on my website. But there's no use having a website if there's nothing on it to sell! So I'm planning on making a start on a green and lavender version of my Jubilee bag. Well, let's face it - it doesn't look like I'll be spending much time in the garden, based on the current weather forecast.....!

    Oh no all that fabric and to dangle in front of a fabricholic just not cricket, lol. The weather at your event looks lovely and sounds like you had a good time

    Glad to hear you had a good time at the market, I know what you mean about unpacking - my stuff from today's fair hasn't even made it out of the car yet!
    Looking forward to seeing your new logo, I don't think HandbagsbyHelen is too long a name but I suppose it may be restrictive if you suddenly changed direction x

    Pollyanna's Patchwork looks lovely - all very tempting. Glad you enjoyed the street market - no pic of the Freddie Mercury look-a=-like? Look forward to seeing your new logo and hope you have a good week.

      You can just about see Freddie in the street photo - he's the guy in the miniskirt and blue vest!

    Oh my! Pollyanna Patchwork looks like my kind of heaven! Names can be difficult and once you have chosen it your stuck with it but maybe you could abbreviate it in instances where the full name is too long?

    Good to hear you had a great time at your market. Maybe you could have given the Freddie act one of your bags to carry around as advertising :-)

    Absolutely nothing wrong with the name - it does what it says on the tin! I know what you mean however as I have evolved and the name I use accross the board may well be better if I changed it but then I worry I will be starting from scratch again.

    Hi, I found your blog through Handmade Monday links. I really love your bags, the Lilac and green floral patchwork bag is adorable. And your jubilee messenger bag is wonderful, I'm sure a green and lavender version would be a great addition for your shop.

    Glad the fair went well for you, it looks like a beautiful place to sell. I want to go to Pollyanna Patchwork but being down south I think its going to be a dream for a while longer yet!

    I think "HandbagsbyHelen " has a really nice ring to it, it is certainly memorable. Exciting times with the new website and logo plans!
